Brief Introduction

I received the B. Sc degree in mathematics from Suzhou University in 1986, the M. Sc degree in computational mathematics from Nanjing Normal University in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree from Southeast University in 1996. From Oct., 1996 to Dec., 2001, I had been worked at Nanjing University of Science & Technology, City University of Hong Kong and University of Bristol. I have been a Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) since 2002 and a Distinguished Professor of SJTU since 2008.

I received the 2002 National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars of P. R. China, the 2005 Guillemin-Cauer Best Transactions Paper Award from the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, the 2008 First-Class Prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award, the 2008 Distinguished Professor of the Chaing Jiang Scholars Program, Ministry of Education, and the 2010 Peony Prize for Natural Science Researchers in Shanghai.

I teach undergraduate course “Exploring Complex Networks” and graduate courses “Network Science: An Introduction” and “Linear System Theory”.

My current research interest focuses on analysis and control of complex dynamical networks.
